years ago, i decided that i would make an electric guitar. i have the wings cut out and the mid section as well. they're just wood though. still need to assemble it and such. i plan on doing that this summer. anyways, i didn't want to buy one, and this way i would get to paint the back all ninja cool. i had a plan for it, and i forgot it. so, i came up with this yesterday. it works. anyways, this is just a lineart for it. the color scheme will probably be earthy and pale. i plan on it being all realistically shaded and stuffs.....gonna be in acrylics.
if anyone has an idea how to transfer this onto wood, i'd really appreciate it. i'd just do the pencil transfer dealy, but i'm gonna stain the wood first, and i don't think the pencil would show up....
If you don't mind having crap stuck to your guitar, you could paste the design onto it and then paint over it ... what you do is medium the hell out of the front of the page (it's clear acrylic paint, basically, several coats), then dunk the page in water, let it soak, rub the back until most of the paper comes off and leaves you with the pattern on a clear acrylic base. Stick that onto the guitar, and presto! Pattern to paint over.
If that doesn't tickle your fancy (or if you can't figure out my rambly instructions), you could always try painting an outline with white paint - should be easy enough to wipe off if you make a mistake, if the wood is stained first.
Hmm ... I think it should work with prismacolors. Better than pencil. I've only ever tried it with magazines/newspapers and computer-printed stuff, though. I know it works really well with photocopies - I would suggest that. (Plus, then you don't ruin your original if something goes wrong.)
yea, i'd print it, but the thing is it's on 9x12 paper, so i can't print it and have it be big enough.....i might have to do the whole kinko's dealy....
well, i drew the stuff first, so everything was seperate....well, not the music.....but the i just used tracing paper to put it all together. plus, it looks all nifty like.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
